Businessman caught with Rs 9.5 lakh under over bridge, information given to Income Tax Department

Bhilai: Due to election atmosphere in Chhattisgarh, vehicles are being checked continuously. Suspects are also being stopped and interrogated. Meanwhile, during checking in Bhilai, police found Rs 9.5 lakh in cash. The businessman sitting in the vehicle did not give any correct information related to the cash. The police has sent a letter to the Income Tax Department regarding this.

Actually, this entire matter is of Cantonment police station area of Bhilai. Here, vehicles are being checked continuously in view of the elections. During checking at night, police recovered Rs 9.5 lakh in cash from a vehicle. A businessman was sitting in the vehicle. When the police asked for cash related documents from the businessman, no documents were given to the police by the businessman. Due to non-receipt of documents, the police have asked the businessman to provide complete information regarding the cash within a week. The police also seized the cash and wrote a letter to the Income Tax Department in this regard.

Let us tell you that as the assembly elections are approaching, the police is continuously stopping suspicious vehicles and interrogating them. These days, huge amounts of cash are being recovered from vehicles continuously. Police is also alert regarding this.
