New Delhi: Amid the diplomatic dispute between India and Canada, Canada’s Deputy Army Chief Major General Peter Scott said on Tuesday, ‘We want to build military relations between the two countries.’ The Canadian Vice Army Chief arrived in the national capital to attend the Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference (IPACC). He said he is aware of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statement, but he is here to build military-to-military ties with India. Scott said, “I am fully aware of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statement. Our government’s position is to request the Indian government to participate and cooperate in the investigation. But, apart from this, we are here to participate in the Indo-Pacific Summit. We have come. We have come to build good relations between the armies of the two countries. This issue should be allowed to be resolved by both the governments (India-Canada) in their own way.
Peter Scott added, “We look forward to the opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from each other.” ‘Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference’ (IPACC) is being organized at Manekshaw Center in Delhi Cantt.
