Captain Geetika Kaul becomes the first woman medical officer to be deployed in Siachen
Leh/Jammu. Captain Geetika Kaul has become the first woman medical officer of the Indian Army to be deployed at Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield, the Fire and Fury Corps said on Tuesday.
The achievement comes after the successful completion of rigorous induction training at the prestigious Siachen Battle School, which included high altitude acclimatization, survival techniques and special medical procedures.
The Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps announced the milestone on social media, highlighting the importance of the deployment of Captain Cool in promoting gender inclusivity within the Army.
“Captain Geetika Kaul of the Snow Leopard Brigade has become the first woman medical officer of the Indian Army to be deployed to Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield, after successfully completing induction training at the Siachen Battle School,” Fire and Fury Corps said in a post. ” X.
Siachen, located in the northern Himalayas, faces challenges due to its strategic importance, harsh climate and difficult terrain.
