Carcass of male elephant found in Badhapur range of Bijnor

Bijnor (IANS). Dead body of a male elephant was found in Badhapur range on Monday in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. A senior forest department official said that a team of the forest department was on patrol on Monday. During patrolling, the team found a dead male elephant in room number 4 of Barkheda beat of Badhapur range.

Badhapur Range Regional Forest Officer Jitendra Kumar said that the carcass of an adult male elephant has been found. Its age is said to be between 10 and 12 years. He said, all the parts of the elephant are safe. On seeing the dead body, it looks almost a day old. Prima facie, the elephant seems to have died due to some disease. However, the cause of death of the male elephant will be clear only after the post mortem report. A team of veterinary doctors has been asked to investigate the exact cause of death.
