Case filed against those who tried to burn the station in-charge, councilor also accused
Bhilai: The police, which guarantees the safety of the people, seems to be lagging behind in the safety of its own people. On July 24, an attempt was made to burn police personnel including Jamul police station in-charge Yakub Memon alive by sprinkling kerosene oil in their own police station. In this case, on August 30, a case was registered against 6 people including BJP councilor Piyush Mishra. That means, leave aside the action, it took 7 days for the FIR to be registered. Just think, on which police are you trusting to throw you out of the house and on which police are you hoping to protect the honor of your sisters and daughters? The police which, instead of arresting the attackers of its own police station officer, remained idle for 7 days.
According to Jamul police station in-charge Yakub Memon, investigation was conducted in the matter. The footage of the CCTV installed in the police station was scanned and after that a case was registered. Now even if the words of the station in-charge are accepted literally, then there is a loophole in the matter. The place of incident was Jamul police station premises only. Around 400 BJP workers had gathered here. Kerosene was poured on the police station in-charge and other policemen in the police station premises itself, amid a heated argument with the police. Cameras are also installed in the police station. Still, how did the police take not 10 or 20 hours, but more than 150 hours to investigate and scan the footage?
TI Jamul Yakub Memon told that my staff has lodged an FIR against the BJP people. After investigation, a case has been registered against the named accused through CCTV footage in the police station.
