Case registered against 4 immigration consultants
The police have hired four immigration consultants to accommodate the people.
Madan Kumar of Faridkot filed the complaint, alleging that Jaswinder Singh and others, who had an office in Sector 8, extorted Rs 60,000 and then provided him with a false visa to Dubai. Another complainant, Gurvinder Singh, a native of Una district, accused Nitish Chauhan, owner of Reford’s Immigration Service, Sector 17, and others of embezzling Rs 1,20 lakh on the pretext of providing visas to Oman, police said.
The police also arrested Sahil Singh of Allen Express, Sector 17, for allegedly duping Arjun Singh of Gurdaspur, who wanted to establish himself abroad, of Rs 1,70 lakh. Najjar Singh of Moga told that a woman, who has an office in Sector 8, had lured him with Rs 8 lakh by promising to get him a Canadian visa.
