Case registered against woman for sending fake SMS containing bomb threat to police to interrogate her husband

The city police on Thursday registered a case against a 32-year-old woman after she allegedly sent a false threat message to a police agent from her husband’s mobile number to take revenge for breaking her mobile phone.

According to the police, the woman’s husband broke her mobile phone because it interrupted her online conversations with his friends.

This made the woman angry. When he told this to his friend from Bihar, he thought of a plan with another common friend to catch the woman’s husband. Meanwhile, after the woman received another phone call, her friend allegedly sent a false message about a bomb threat and suggested she send it from her husband’s phone to a senior police officer.

The woman followed his suggestion and allegedly made a false bomb threat to a police officer from her husband’s phone on December 3, claiming that there would be a series of RDX bombs. Once the message was successfully sent, his mobile phone was reportedly lost, he said.

Later, when the woman’s husband was taken into custody for questioning, the police became suspicious and interrogated his wife. He said that she then confessed that she had sent the message from her husband’s phone to take revenge by breaking the phone.
