Cash worth lakhs seized from railway station, RPF took major action

Raipur. RPF seized Rs 10 lakh from a passenger and handed it over to the Income Tax Department. During the checking of Jan Shatabdi Express parked on platform number one of the railway station, a person was stopped near the stairs while coming out of coach C-03. On asking the name and address, Jitendra Borkar, father Ashok Borkar, age 40 years, resident of Chandan Awas 4/50 Rajkishore Nagar Bilaspur.

When asked about the blue bag kept with him, he was told that there was cash in the bag and the cash was found to be ₹ 10,000,00 (ten lakhs). He could not present any valid documents regarding the amount. He was brought to Railway Protection Force Post Raipur, seized and informed to Deputy Director Income Tax 2, New Raipur for further action.
