New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that in the four-hour meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Monday, a historic decision has been taken that the party will conduct caste census in all the Congress ruled states.
Rahul Gandhi said that the historic decision of caste census has been taken unanimously in the CWC meeting. All the Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states have decided that they will conduct caste census in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. A proposal has been passed in this regard, a copy of which you will get soon.
He said that the entire Congress party has taken this decision. Most of the parties of INDIA alliance have also agreed on the caste census. Some parties may face problems but that’s okay. We are not a fascist party. But most of the parties in the alliance have agreed to the caste census.
Rahul said that this is not about religion or caste. This is about the poor class. This caste census is for poor people. At present we are in India. One is Adani’s India and the other is the India of the poor. We need this new x-ray.
