CBIC destroys drugs and contraband worth crores to promote public welfare
Guwahati: In a significant operation under Special Drive 3.0 of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Guwahati Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and Customs Zone, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) recently carried out the destruction Gave. 9077.24 kg ganja whose estimated value is Rs. 14.44 crores. Mahfuzur Rahman, Principal Additional Director General (ADG), Directorate General of Human Resource Development (HRD), Shri. Rajiv Yadav and Regional Officer of State Pollution Control Board, Shri. The primary objective is to enhance public welfare and overall well-being of the nation, ensure cleanliness of the environment and free up valuable office space. These initiatives not only serve the immediate objective of eliminating illicit substances from circulation, but also contribute to the broader goal of creating a drug-free nation, while protecting the welfare of its citizens.
