CERT-In issues high security alert for Apple users in India

Samsung users in India recently received a high-security warning from the central government about several vulnerabilities that could jeopardize the security of their personal data and devices.

Now, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-security alert for Apple users. CERT-In warns that Apple devices have several vulnerabilities that may affect device security and data protection.

CERT-In said the security vulnerabilities allegedly allow hackers to execute arbitrary code in the device to access sensitive information and perform malicious activities.

The vulnerabilities can also be used by cybercriminals to bypass security restrictions to gain access to the device and deny user access to the device with denial of service (DoS) conditions. Furthermore, they can also gain unauthorized access to gain elevated privileges and perform spoofing attacks on systems marked as targets.
Issuing a high-security alert for Apple users, CERT-In said, “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Apple products that could allow an attacker to access sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, bypass security restrictions, disconnect from service.” Can lead to a denial of service (DoS) condition. , bypass authentication, gain elevated privileges, and conduct spoofing attacks on targeted systems.

These multiple vulnerabilities reportedly affect Apple products running iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and the Safari browser.

Affected users are advised to update their device software to the latest version as soon as possible.
