CG BREAKING: Grocery shop sealed, accused of selling PDS rice

Jagdalpur. The Food Department is keeping an eye on those who are black marketing government ration in the district. In this episode, action was taken to seal the shops by confiscating rice and other food items allotted under the Public Distribution System after finding them in three shops.

chhattisgarh news Actually, many rice mafias are now eyeing the important scheme of the state government to provide cheap grains to poor families. The Food Department has tightened the noose on rice mafias by taking continuous action regarding black marketing of PDS rice. Grocery shops operating in different areas of the city were recently inspected, during which rice and other food items allotted under the Public Distribution System were found in three shops and major action was taken against the grocery store operators by confiscating it.

Bastar Collector Vijay Dayaram says that complaints were being received continuously about ration card holders selling rice and other food items distributed under PDS to grocery store traders in the district. Based on this information, the food department raided several shops in the city and conducted an investigation. Three shops were sealed after irregularities were found during the investigation.
