CG NEWS: Hundreds of factories will be closed due to costly electricity
Raipur. Industrialists have opened a front against the 25 percent increase in electricity rates. Industrialists say that due to expensive electricity, a big crisis has arisen in front of the industries and due to this, all the factories will be closed from the night of 29th July in protest against the increase in electricity rates. The factories that will be closed from Monday night will include mini steel plants and ferro alloy factories, their number is around 200. Industrialists say that a meeting will also be held with the Chief Minister on this matter on Monday.
Chattisgarh Sponge Iron Association President Anil Nachrani said that the increase in electricity rates has become a big problem for them. Due to this, the production cost of industries has increased a lot and every industry has to spend more from 25 lakhs to 2.5 crores.
Nachrani said that if the factories are closed, it will affect the economy of the state, as well as unemployment. 60 percent of CSPDCL’s load comes from our industries only. He informed that a letter has also been written to Chhattisgarh State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) to get relief from the high rates of electricity and it has also been made aware of the problems caused due to the high rates of electricity.
