CG NEWS: Tomatoes at Rs 80, onions at Rs 40 and green vegetables prices also increased
Raipur/Bhilai. There has been a jump in the price of green vegetables. Vegetables which were being sold in the market for 30 to 40 rupees per kg 15 days ago have now reached 50 rupees per kg. The reason behind this is said to be extreme heat. Due to this, less vegetables are coming out of the fields and the kitchen budget has also deteriorated.
chhattisgarh news: After the supply of vegetables from local gardens has stopped, vegetables have started disappearing from the food plate. Vegetables which were being sold for 20 rupees a kg a few days ago have become two to three times more expensive. While the price of tomato has reached 60 to 80 rupees in the retail market, onion is also being sold for 40 rupees a kg. The prices of green vegetables have reached 40 to 120 rupees a kg.
A big vegetable trader says that after the supply of vegetables from the gardens of Durg district has stopped, vegetables and tomatoes are now coming from Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bangalore etc. Traders said that the vegetable prices will remain the same for the next two to two and a half months. Because the crops have dried up due to the heat and vegetables do not come in large numbers during the rains. Customers are also upset with the increased prices. Some returned after hearing the price of the vegetables while some reduced the quality of the vegetables.
