Chain snatching from Sarerah woman’s neck, case registered
Bilaspur. In Bilaspur, bike-borne robbers snatched a gold chain from the neck of a woman. The woman was returning on foot from the hospital, when she was buying vegetables in a handcart in the street near her house. Two bike-riding youths came from behind and looted the gold chain from the neck and ran away. During this, the woman kept shouting and asking for help from the people around. The CCTV video of the robbery incident has also come to the fore, in which the actions of the youth riding the bike are visible. The case is of Torwa police station area. Chanda Tripathi, a resident of Hemu Nagar Tehsildar Gali, had gone to Pendalwar Nursing Home on foot on Monday evening, the incident took place around 6.30 pm. The woman returning home stopped near the tehsildar street to buy vegetables from the cart seller. Only then two youths wearing helmets came from behind in the bike and ran away by snatching the chain in one fell swoop.
After chain snatching, the woman screamed, ran after the bike riders but the accused sped away. During this time no one helped the woman nor tried to catch the accused. The woman informed her family about the incident. Then she reached Torva police station with a complaint. As soon as the information about the robbery was received, the police team went to the spot. Then returned after seeing the CCTV cameras installed around the spot. Police is looking for the robbers by registering a case. The CCTV video of this robbery incident has also come to the fore. On watching the video received at different times, it was found that two youths wearing helmets in a white colored Apache bike were repeatedly circling in the street. It is clearly visible in the camera that the woman was buying vegetables, then the youths who came from behind snatched the chain from her neck and then ran away fast. Police is searching for the accused through video.
