Chance of snowfall in upper areas

Shimla. The Meteorological Department has predicted bad weather in the next 72 hours. During this period there will be snowfall in the upper areas. While there is a possibility of rain in lower areas. Snowfall will affect the temperature. There is a possibility of rapid drop in temperature in the state from the evening of 26th November.

This effect of snowfall will be seen in Kinnaur, Chamba and Kullu districts. Whereas there is a possibility of cloudy sky in the plains. The Meteorological Department has also said that there will be low visibility during this period. Considering the weather conditions, it is advised to drive with caution. The Meteorological Department claims that this change in weather is going to happen due to the active western disturbance.

Cold is continuously increasing in the state and a decline in temperature has also been recorded.
In the last 24 hours, the lowest temperature of 11.3 degrees Celsius has been recorded in Keylong in the state. Apart from this, it was 13 degree in Samdho, 13.2 degree Celsius in Narkanda, 15.1 degree Celsius in Dalhousie, 15.2 degree in Kalpa, 16.2 degree in Manali, 17.8 degree in Bharmour of Chamba, 18.2 degree in Shimla, 21.9 degree in Mandi, 22.2 degree in Nahan. , Dharamshala recorded 23.5 degrees, Solan 24.5 degrees, Chamba 25.8 degrees and Una 27.8 degrees.

At present, Una is the hottest in the state while the temperature in Keylong remains the coldest. In the last 24 hours, a decrease of 0.2 degree temperature has been recorded across the state. After November 26, the temperature will drop further due to the possibility of rain and snowfall. However, it has been made clear by the Meteorological Department that snowfall will start rapidly in the state from the last week of December and snowfall will continue till January and February. After November 26, the possibility of snowfall will remain only in higher altitude areas.
