CHANDIGARH: Case registered against two for misusing passport
Police have registered a case against Gurpreet Singh of Padiyala and Balwinder Singh of Singhpura (Kurali) for allegedly misusing the passport of Gurdwara Ragi Jatha member Jujhar Singh.
Complainant Jujhar Singh alleged that he had recently gone to America, Canada and Britain as part of a jatha from Nanaksar Gurudwara of Singhpura village, but he came to know that another member of the jatha, Gurpreet Singh, had been sent abroad to his place. Jujhar said the matter came to light when he asked Balwinder to return his passport, but he claimed it was lost. “Later I came to know that he had sent Gurpreet abroad on my passport,” he said. Mohali SP (Rural) investigated the matter and registered a case under sections 400, 410, 420 and 120-B of the IPC and section 12 of the Passport Act.
