Chandigarh woman loses Rs 2 lakh in fraud
Chandigarh: A woman was duped of Rs 2 lakh by a fraudster. A Sector 47 resident said that a fraudster fraudulently transferred the amount from her bank account through internet banking. A case has been registered at the Cyber Crime police station.
Man attacked at Ram Darbar
A man was attacked with rods and sticks at Ram Darbar. Vinod said that Jhinjur, Mukesh and two unidentified persons attacked him. He has been admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Sector 32. A case has been registered at Sector 31 police station.
Road Safety Awareness
The Road Safety Awareness Cell of Chandigarh Traffic Police in collaboration with Young Indians Chandigarh Chapter organised a session to make the delegates aware about the important provisions, rules and regulations of the Motor Vehicles Act. Special emphasis was laid on the use of safety headgear by two-wheeler drivers and the impact and importance of wearing seat belts by four-wheeler drivers as well as front and rear co-passengers.
PU Law Department gets new Head
Professor Dr. Vandana Arora assumed charge as Head of the Law Department of Panjab University on Thursday. Dr. Arora, a well-known academician in the field of law, joined the university department in 1999. A holder of the prestigious Gurdial Singh Dhillon Chair, she is also the Director of Publications Bureau of PU. Dr. Arora was also the Warden of PU International Hostel from 2014-2015.
