Raipur. Chhattisgarh has become the third cleanest state in the country. In the Swachh Survekshan-2023 conducted by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Chhattisgarh has been ranked as the third cleanest state in the country after Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. President Draupadi Murmu gave the award for this achievement of the state in a function organized at Bharat Mandapam Convention Center in New Delhi today. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao received this award. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Secretary Manoj Joshi and Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Director Roopa Mishra also attended the ceremony. Five urban bodies of the state, Raipur, Mahasamund, Kumhari, Arang and Patan, which performed excellently in the Swachh Survekshan, were also awarded in the ceremony.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao have congratulated and congratulated the elected public representatives, officials, coordinators and cleanliness didis of the concerned bodies on this achievement of the state and urban bodies. This is how Chhattisgarh became the third cleanest state in the country
Due to the continuous good work being done in the state to keep the cities clean, Chhattisgarh has got the status of the third cleanest state in the country. According to the results of Swachh Survekshan, under Garbage Free City, two cities of the state have got five star rating, 23 cities have got three star rating and 47 cities have got single star rating. There are 164 ODF+ cities in the state, one ODF+ city and three ODF cities. An urban body of the state has got Water Plus status.
Mahasamund Municipality has received the award of the cleanest city in the category of cities with population between 50 thousand to one lakh in the Eastern Zone. In the eastern zone of the country, Kumhari Municipality has received the cleanest city award in the category of cities with population between 25 thousand to 50 thousand and Arang Municipality has received the cleanest city award in the category of cities with population between 15 thousand to 25 thousand. Patan Nagar Panchayat has been awarded the second cleanest city in the country among cities with population less than one lakh. Patan, which has got ODF Plus status, has got five star ranking in Garbage Free City. In the survey, Raipur Municipal Corporation has been chosen as the cleanest city of the state among the cities with population of more than one lakh. Raipur has received five star rating in Garbage Free City.
Swachh Survekshan is organized every year by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, in all the cities and states of the country. In this, urban cleanliness is assessed under various parameters. By releasing the ranking of states and cities, the states and cities performing excellently are rewarded.
