Chicken per kg price today is Rs 100 in a farm in Puri district of Odisha. Though it seems unbelievable, this is true. And the chicken is of course fresh and tasty; not that it is any kind of compromised quality chicken. Actually, the reason of selling chicken at such low price is stock clearance. Since, the month of Shraban is going on when many people don’t consume nonvegetarian foods, the said farm faced business drop and so a lot of chicken remained unsold. Hence, for stock clearance the owner has offered this unbelievably low price.
The said price of Chicken at Rs 100 per kg was announced at the Bromark Fresh Chicken Centre at the Badhei Chhaka near Konark in Puri district of Odisha yesterday. It was Friday yesterday which is a nonvegetarian day for many. Hence, soon heavy crowd gathered at the farm. Witnesses said there was no space to keep bikes in the surrounding place as a lot of people ventured to the farm at once to buy chicken. Long queue was seen to buy chicken at this centre. Even people from 7 or 8 km also ran to the shop to buy chicken.
The manager of the farm said that their owner has instructed that the price of Rs 100 per kg will continue for a few days till the speculated clearance of stock stage will be achieved. After that the price will be again be the same as it was prevalent in other Chicken centres of the area.
In other chicken centres in this area now the price of chicken is being sold at Rs 160 per kg. It is also a little bit low price, which probably has been provided keeping in view the less sale due to Shravana month.
After getting chicken at Rs 100 per kg, customers were heard discussing that now they will not mix potato in the chicken curry. The reason is potato is being sold at Rs 60 to 70 in this area while now they got chicken at such a low price. Hence, they would just go for chicken kasa or chicken masala without potato.
So, people who are interested to get chicken at Rs 100 per kg in Konark and nearby areas, are advised to hurry because this offer will not continue for long.
