Chief Minister addressed the public meeting at the church grounds of Jagdalpur
. Raipur. In the election public meeting in Jagdalpur, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, while highlighting the achievements of his government, attacked BJP’s claims. The Chief Minister said that Home Minister Amit Shah says that Nagarnar Steel Plant will not be privatized, but does not show his order. He said that BJP leaders do not have the strength to take even a handful of soil from Nagarnar Plant or Bastar. The Chief Minister said, even five years ago it was claimed that the Nagarnar Plant would not be privatized but the committee headed by the Prime Minister has decided to sell the Nagarnar Plant to private hands. Only yesterday people from five companies inspected the Nagarnar plant. Chief Minister Baghel said that the Home Minister talks about hanging the corrupt people upside down, but comes in the nomination of the corrupt. Raman Singh did Naan scam, chit fund scam, his son’s name came up in Panama case but the Home Minister talks about hanging Congress people upside down. BJP has nothing to do with the people of Chhattisgarh. He just wants revenge. Chief Minister Baghel said, we have also seen that period when earlier people were afraid of coming to Bastar. On one side there was fear of Naxal bullets and on the other side of police. The BJP government used to treat the people of Bastar like enemies. Fake encounters were conducted and people were sent to jail in fake cases. The lands of tribals were snatched away. Ration shops, schools and Anganwadi centers were closed. Farmers had to take loans from the market. The ration was reduced to 7 kg instead of 35. Farmers were forced to sell their produce at throwaway prices. But even in the worst times, the people of Bastar always supported Congress. When the period of change came in 2018, Congress kept struggling on every issue. The result was that Congress won 11 out of 12 seats in Bastar. Attacking BJP on the issue of farmers, Chief Minister Baghel said that due to BJP’s breaking of promises, the number of farmers in his government has decreased. In the double engine government, it was decided to purchase 10 quintals of paddy instead of 15 per acre. Bonus not given. Whereas the Congress government waived off the loans of farmers in two hours. Support price of Kodo, Kutki and Ragi fixed. Worked on sending money to the accounts of landless labourers. During Raman Singh’s government, 12 lakh farmers used to sell paddy. Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Yojana was implemented in the Congress government. Last year, 24.5 lakh farmers sold paddy. Now if 20 quintals of paddy is purchased per acre, the number of farmers will increase to 26 lakh. Chief Minister Baghel said that the Congress government has done the work of changing the image of Bastar. Bastar was made malaria free through health schemes. A network of roads and bridges was laid. Roads have been built to every block and village. Electricity was supplied to every home. Chief Minister Baghel said that if BJP comes, the old pension will be stopped and NPS will be implemented. Electricity bill will be halved under the scheme. Availability of 35 kg rice will stop. Paddy will again be purchased at 10 quintals instead of 20 quintals. The price of paddy will stop at Rs 2640.
