Chief Minister approved – Committee will be formed to provide better facilities to Home Guard volunteers
Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to form a committee to provide best facilities to the volunteers of Rajasthan Home Defense and to solve their problems. Along with this, approval has also been given to increase the contract period of Rajasthan Home Defense volunteers from 5 years to 15 years.
According to the proposal, this committee will be constituted at the Directorate level of Home Defence. Principal Secretary of the Home Department will be its chairman. Director General and Commander General (Commandant General), Home Defense and Inspector General of Police Home Defense will be the members of this committee. The Government Secretary of the Home Department will act as the Member Secretary in this committee.
This committee will work related to employment of Home Defense volunteers for 12 months, honorarium equivalent to police constable, dearness allowance and ESI/PF facility and redressal of problems arising from time to time to Home Defense volunteers.
Also, with the extension of the contract period, the renewal period will now be 15 years instead of 5 years. It is notable that Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot had made this announcement in May 2023 during the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Home Guard Headquarters in Jaipur.
