Chief Minister worshipped a female calf born through advanced technology on Hareli Tihar
Raipur. On the occasion of Hareli Tihar, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel worshipped the female calf born with advanced technology, and her mother, at the Chief Minister’s residence today, and fed them green grass, fodder, and flour dough. The calf was born on June 7 through artificial insemination with sex-sorted semen.
It is noteworthy that on Hareli Tihar, people express their gratitude by worshipping the tools associated with farming, including livestock. The state government is making continuous efforts to conserve and promote Narwa, Garwa, Ghurwa, and Badi through the Suraji Gaon Yojana. The Garwa Yojana is helping in the development of livestock and thereby strengthening the rural economy.
Last year, on September 3, insemination was done for the heifer through gender classified semen in the Chief Minister’s residence. The calf born through this method will grow up within two and a half years. She will also produce more milk than her mother. The mother of the calf gives 16 litres of milk every day. This heifer will produce 20 to 22 litres of milk per day. It is noteworthy that artificial insemination facilities are available through sex-classified semen in all the veterinary centers in Chhattisgarh. Farmers and herders have to pay a considerably lesser amount for this procedure. The government also provides a subsidy to farmers and cattle rearers.
