Child pornography racket busted, 12 people arrested
Kerala: Kerala Police has launched a major campaign against those running child pornography rackets in the state. This operation has been named P-Hunt. On Saturday, police conducted raids at many places across the state. During this period, rapid arrests also took place. According to media reports, the police have arrested 12 people as part of their statewide operation. They are accused of watching and sharing objectionable material related to children.
According to information given by Kerala Police, a total of 46 cases have been registered across the state. Apart from this, 123 electronic devices have also been seized. Police have made maximum four arrests from Malappuram district. After this, two persons each from Idukki and Kochi city, one person each from Alappuzha and Ernakulam rural areas have been arrested. Kerala Police launched Operation P-Hunt to crack down on the increasing crime against children in the state. For this, a separate wing was formed in the police, named – Countering Child Sexual Exploitation i.e. CCSE Team.
