China increased deployment of troops on LAC in a year
China . China has not yet made any reduction in military deployment on LAC. America’s Defense Ministry Pentagon has given this information in its report. According to the report, China is continuously building roads, villages, storage facilities, airfields and helipads on the border.
The Pentagon has also said in its report that China has also increased the number of nuclear weapons in the last one year. It now has 500 nuclear warheads. Earlier, Swedish think tank SIPRI had said in its report that in the last few years, China has added 60 new weapons to its nuclear weapons arsenal. According to the Pentagon, China aims to make one thousand nuclear weapons by 2030.
According to the report, the deployment of the Chinese Western Theater Command on the 3,488 km long LAC will continue till 2023. Last year, China had deployed a border regiment with the support of two divisions from Xinjiang and Tibet Military Districts along with four combined-arms brigades in reserve on the Ladakh side of the western sector of the LAC.
China has also deployed 3 CABs near the borders of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from this, they have also been deployed on the LAC near Uttarakhand and Himachal. The Pentagon has also said that China has also built underground storage facilities near Doklam. Apart from this, new roads have also been constructed in all three sectors of LAC. A second bridge has also been built on Pangong Lake. China has also established villages in the disputed areas with Bhutan. The Pentagon has stated in its report that China’s objective is to stop or if necessary defeat any third party in the Indo-Pacific region. For this reason, it is continuously increasing its military capability. It has also been told in the report that apart from attacking from land, sea and air, China is also increasing its capability for war in nuclear, space, electronic and cyberspace.
According to the Pentagon, Chinese President Jinping aims to create a world class military by 2049. China already has the world’s largest navy. This includes 370 warships and submarines. China has 140 surface combatants. These are like naval warships. Weapons and soldiers are deployed in these.
