Chiranjeevi paid tribute to NTR, said – will always be alive in our hearts

Hyderabad (IANS) | Megastar K. Chiranjeevi on Sunday said that veteran actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao will always be alive in the hearts of people. Chiranjeevi paid an emotional tribute to NTR on his 100th birth anniversary. Actor Chiranjeevi wrote in tweeting, NTR was one in crores. Not 100 years, he will always be alive in our hearts. History will proudly tell their story to the generations to come.

The megastar said, NTR was destined to fulfill a purpose. I will always remember my association with Sri Nandamuri Tarakarama Rao who made Telugu people proud.

Significantly, like NTR, Chiranjeevi also entered the politics of Andhra Pradesh. Chiranjeevi formed the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in 2008 and tried to recreate the magic of NTR. However, he could not succeed in this and his political journey ended in failure.

After failing to make a mark in the 2009 elections, Chiranjeevi later merged the PRP with the Congress party and became a Rajya Sabha member. He served as a minister in the Congress-led UPA government at the Center from 2012 to 2014.

After the humiliation faced by the Congress party in the 2014 elections following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, he distanced himself from politics and became active in films once again.
