Clinic operator selling medicines without permit and degree sentenced to 2 years imprisonment
Dadasiba. A clinic operator from Chintpurni has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for selling medicines without license, permit and degree. Special Judge Nitin Kumar has convicted Rakesh Kumar, resident of Dehra district Kangra, under the Drug and Cosmetic Act.
He has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 40,000 and under Section 28, he has been sentenced to three months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. Giving information, Sandeep Sharma Deputy District Attorney said that the accused Rakesh Kumar used to run a shop in the name of Bhatti Clinic near New Bus Stand Chintpurni.
On August 7, 2016, the then Drug Inspector Headquarters Dharamshala Ashish Raina had raided the above mentioned shop. During that time, stock of medicines was found in the shop.
On the demand of the drug inspector, the accused could not produce any license, permit, degree and bill, on which the drug inspector took possession of the English medicine from the accused’s shop and after taking the prosecution’s approval, a complaint letter was filed against him in the court. Had filed, on which the court has pronounced the above sentence on the basis of the statements of the witnesses.
