CM Arvind Kejriwal said- The infrastructure of government schools in Delhi is no less than the top private institutions
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday inaugurated the auditorium of a government school in the Civil Lines area and said the infrastructure of state-run schools is no less than that of any top private institute.
Addressing the event, Kejriwal said that during the period of 15-20 years after India gained independence, many prominent people studied in government schools as there were few private schools.
Kejriwal reiterated that education is the focus of the AAP government and said the infrastructure of government schools in Delhi has changed in the last eight years.
“The infrastructure of government schools is no less than that of top private schools,” he said. The confidence of the children has also increased and one can see that they are more confident than their counterparts in private schools.”
The Chief Minister said that earlier the dropout rate was very high in government schools due to lack of education, but this issue has been resolved.
“Now, around 18 lakh students are studying in government schools,” he said.
