CM Stalin launches free training program for construction workers
Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin launched a free training program for construction workers, members of the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board, through video conferencing. The training will be conducted at Tamil Nadu Construction Academy (TAC) at Thaiyur in Kanchipuram district.
The state government has allocated Rs 5.86 crore to provide training to 5,000 workers to enhance their skills in construction-related jobs. Also, 4,000 workers will receive a week-long training to improve their skills in masonry, welding, plumbing, wire bending, carpentry and other similar fields.
They will be paid Rs 800 per day to compensate for the loss of work and accommodation during the training period. On Friday, 50 personnel started receiving this TAC training. Additionally, 1,000 workers will receive three months of TAC skill development training and will be provided free food and accommodation.
Meanwhile, the CM launched loan distribution to 100 women from BC/MBC/inherited communities under the new Swarnima scheme through Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation Limited.
