CM Sukhu laid the foundation stone of Sirmauri Haat

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday laid the foundation stone of Sirmauri Haat at Puruwala in Paonta Sahib assembly constituency of Sirmaur district. This three-storey haat, to be built on an area of 450 square meters, will have all the basic facilities, for which Rs. 1 crore has been approved. The Chief Minister said that this Haat will be constructed on the lines of ‘She Haat’ established at Sarahan in Sirmaur district. He said that this would go a long way in strengthening the economy of the area, as well as provide a better platform to the local people to display and sell their handicrafts and food delicacies.

He said that members of local Gram Panchayat and self-help groups will also be involved in this. This effort will also provide employment opportunities to the surrounding areas. Traditional cuisine of Sirmaur district will also be available in the Haat, giving tourists an opportunity to better understand the rich lifestyle and traditions of the region. He said that the state government is making tireless efforts to strengthen the rural economy. Speaking informally to media persons, the Chief Minister said that during his visit to Dubai, he had invited investors to invest in power, tourism and green energy sectors in the state and also assured them of providing all possible assistance. He said that the State Government is making concerted efforts to encourage environment friendly investments to ensure sustainable industrial growth. He said that investors from Dubai will come to Himachal in January next year. New initiatives are being taken with a positive approach to realize the vision of making the state self-reliant. The Chief Minister said that these efforts are being appreciated in the country and abroad.
