Collector and SSP participated in Police Memorial Day
Raigarh: Collector Karthikeya Goyal today participated in the Police Memorial Day organized at the Martyr Memorial Garden of Urdana Police Line. On this occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar and SP of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district Ashutosh Singh were present. During this, SSP Sadanand Kumar paid tribute to the martyred police forces by reading out their names. The martyrs were saluted by the police personnel. On this occasion, the Collector and SSP honored the family members of the martyr by giving them shawl and quince.
It is noteworthy that every year on 21st October, Police Memorial Day is celebrated for the police all over India. October 21 is dedicated to the ten policemen who were martyred while protecting the country on the India-China border in 1959. On this day, police personnel who were martyred while serving in the police are remembered and paid tribute to them. On this occasion, DFO Raigarh Stylo Mandavi, CSP Sanjay Mahadeva and officers and employees of the police department were present.
