Collector Avnish Sharan inspected SIMS Hospital
Bilaspur. Taking cognizance of the news on the poor condition of SIMS Hospital of the Medical College, a special bench of the High Court held a hearing on Saturday on a holiday and sought answers from the officials. Seeing the strict attitude of the court, the Collector visited SIMS and took stock of the system, while the Advocate General assured the court that a committee will be formed to improve the system of SIMS.
High Court Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Kumar Aggarwal took suo motu hearing on a PIL regarding the continuously published news regarding the problems being faced by the patients reaching SIMS during treatment. The hearing on this case took place on Saturday, a holiday. The bench answered questions from the SIMS Superintendent and asked him why even basic basic facilities were not being provided to the patients. Advocate General Satish Chandra Verma, present on this occasion, assured that a committee will be formed, on the basis of whose report the system of Government SIMS will be improved. The court has asked SIMS to provide details of the allocated budget and expenditure within three years. The next hearing on the case will be held after Dussehra vacation.
The bench also directed the Collector to visit Sims Hospital and submit a report. Collector Avneesh Sharan inspected SIMS Hospital on Saturday evening itself. He took information about the problems from the patients. Went to the hospital kitchen and tasted the food of the patients.
