Collector reviewed election preparations
Sarangarh-Bilaigarh. Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Fariha Alam Siddiqui reviewed all the preparations for the assembly elections in the Collectorate meeting room. He discussed about the duties of clerical staff, office assistants, data entry operators etc. including the computer system of the Returning Officer’s office. The Collector said that all types of forms including nomination forms should be available and all officers and employees should be aware of the election rules. All nodal officers and officers in-charge should physically verify that basic facilities like electricity, drinking water, toilets etc. are available there at their polling stations.
The District Election Officer said that according to the assembly, prepare the data of necessary voting and counting employees. All CMOs in urban bodies and all CEOs in their development blocks should remove political figures, party advertisement posters etc. and remove wall paintings under defacement of property. Strict action will be taken against those who are negligent in work. He said that for web casting, go to the selected polling stations and get the necessary internet tested from the technical assistants. He gave instructions to the officers regarding Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC), vehicle arrangements, flying squad, permanent monitoring committee, VST, video surveillance committee, training venue arrangements, complete arrangements of control room etc. Additional Collector Nishtha Pandey Tiwari, Deputy District Election Officer Prakash Bhardwaj, Returning Officer and SDM Monica Verma, Dr. Snigdha Tiwari, Deputy Collector TR Maheshwari, B Ekka, Nodal Officer Panchayat Harishankar Chauhan and related officers of the district were present in the meeting.
