Collision between pickup and bike, both the youths were dragged along with the bike for 20 meters
Ambikapur. A speeding pickup hit two youths riding a bike on Friday evening at PG College ground in Ambikapur city. After the collision, the pickup driver dragged both the youths along with the bike to a distance of 20 meters. During this, both the youths got thrown from the bike and fell here and there on the ground. Both the youths are seriously injured in the accident. The case is of Gandhinagar police station area. According to the information, 19-year-old Adil, a resident of Takiya Road in the city, and another 33-year-old youth, a resident of Mayapur, are working in Renault Fourwheeler Company. Both were going to the company’s office on Manendragarh Road via PG College ground on Friday evening in their bike number CG 15 DA-9600. Meanwhile, 3 youths riding pickup number CG 15 DH- 4565, who were learning driving at PG College ground, hit them.
After the collision, the young man driving the pickup instead of stopping the vehicle started driving at a higher speed. In such a situation, both the youths got stuck in the vehicle along with the bike and kept on dragging for some distance and later got scattered and fell here and there. The pickup driver dragged his bike about 20 meters away. Both the youths are seriously injured in the accident. After the accident, the cricket players present in the PG College ground and the people who came for evening walk admitted both the injured to Holycross Hospital. In the accident, a young man has suffered a serious head injury, while the leg of the other was amputated. The treatment of both the youths is currently going on in a private hospital.
After the accident, the three youths along with the driver in the pickup started running away leaving the vehicle. Seeing this, people ran after them and caught all three after going some distance away. The driver was under the influence of alcohol. He also started abusing people. On the information of the incident, Gandhinagar police station reached the spot and seized the pickup. The police have taken into custody the pickup driver and two other youths riding in it. During investigation, the police found all the three youths intoxicated. It is a matter of honor that other people walking in the field did not come under the grip of the pickup, otherwise a big accident could have happened. At present, the police have informed the relatives of both the injured youths about the incident. The police reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured. At present, further action is being taken by registering a case against the accused.
