Comment on barber community: Annamalai criticizes Dayanidhi Maran
Chennai: State BJP president K Annamalai on Monday criticized DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran for his recent remarks on the barber community.
Referring to Maran’s recent video in her social media post, Annamalai said, “Instead of apologizing for his remarks towards North Indians, DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran has blamed North Indian brothers and sisters for spreading his statements and reacting to them. Those who gave were described as ‘unemployed barbers’.” clip.

Earlier, DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran criticized the BJP IT wing for spreading the old videos and said, “There is a saying in Tamil that when a barber has no job, he will shave the cat. Similarly, the BJP IT wing Has nothing to do and so he is spreading my old videos.”
Notably, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav also condemned DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran for his controversial remarks on North Indians.
In his four-year-old video, Dayanidhi Maran had reportedly said that Hindi speaking people who come to Tamil Nadu from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and do odd jobs like construction work and cleaning of drains.
