Common citizens will be able to book plants online in the nurseries of the Forest Department
Under the Tree Outside Forest Scheme (TOFR), 6 lakh 95 thousand saplings are being prepared and distributed in nurseries operating in total 6 ranges including Lunkaransar, Nokha, Dungargarh, Kolayat and Bikaner in the district. Deputy Conservator of Forests, Bikaner, Dr. S. Sarath Babu said that under the scheme, the facility to buy saplings online has also been given, for this the number of saplings can be booked by clicking on Forest Nursery on the FMDSS portal. There will be login through SSO ID for payment. He said that after payment, the saplings will have to be received from the concerned nursery within 7 days by presenting online payment receipt and identity card. The Deputy Conservator of Forests said that the distribution work of saplings has been started from July 1, so the person receiving saplings can obtain saplings by showing his Aadhaar card to the nursery incharge. Under this scheme, cooperation of various institutions, departments and citizens is being taken to increase greenery outside the forest areas. Under the scheme, 1 lakh 65 thousand saplings of 6 months and 5 lakh 30 thousand saplings of 12 months have been prepared in the nursery under the Forest Division.
A target has been set to plant 1 lakh 39 thousand saplings for gram panchayats or panchayat committees and 2 lakh 78 thousand for families.
