Congress accused of turning off Rahul Gandhi’s mic in Parliament

New Delhi: There was a huge uproar in Parliament on Friday over the issue of NEET paper leak. Meanwhile, the Congress party has alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s mic was turned off while he was demanding a discussion on NEET paper leak in the Lok Sabha.

Congress shared the video on social media and wrote, “While PM Narendra Modi is not saying anything on NEET, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi is raising the voice of the youth in the House. But, on such a serious issue, a conspiracy is being hatched to suppress the voice of the youth by doing petty acts like turning off the mic.”

In the video shared by the Congress, it can be seen that Rahul Gandhi was speaking in the Lok Sabha when suddenly his mic was turned off or there was no voice. After which the leaders of the opposition parties started saying mic-mike. On this, the speaker says that I do not turn off the mic, you were given the facility earlier.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, citing the rules, said that notices of adjournment motion are not taken during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address. He urged Rahul Gandhi to follow the parliamentary system and said that you are the leader of the opposition and hence it is expected that you will follow the parliamentary system.

Rahul Gandhi says that we wanted to give a joint message to the students of Hindustan on behalf of the opposition and the government that we consider this issue important. Therefore, we thought that for the respect of the students, we will discuss NEET today. After this, there is no voice from Rahul Gandhi’s mic, due to which the opposition leaders start creating a ruckus. Earlier, due to uproar by opposition parties, the Lok Sabha proceedings which started at 11 am on Friday had to be adjourned till 12 noon. When the Lok Sabha proceedings resumed at 12 noon, the proceedings were adjourned for the day after uproar over the NEET issue.
