Congress Holds Rally In Telangana, Claims Hidden Alliance Between BJP, BRS, AIMIM

The Congress party on Sunday came down heavily against the ruling BRS party in Telangana and party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao during a rally in the poll-bound state. Launching a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the Congress alleged that the ruling party in Telangana and the ruling party at the Centre are connected behind curtains. The meeting was attended by Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Party President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi along others.

The rally was held at Tukkuguda in Telangana’s Rangareddy, wherein along with national leaders of the Congress, several prominent state leaders were also present. Addressing the rally, Rahul Gandhi dubbed the BRS as ‘BJP Rishtedar Samithi’, claiming that there are no cases against Telangana CM KCR because the prime minister considers them his own. He even claimed that AIMIM Asaduddin Owaisi and the BJP have a hidden political alliance.

He stated that the Congress party in Telangana is fighting against the BRS, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). “They call each other separate parties, but they are working together as allies. I have seen BRS MPs supporting the BJP in the Parliament when they needed their support.”

Congress promises six guarantees for Telangana
Rahul Gandhi even recounted instances, when the BRS extended their support to the ruling party at the Centre on issues such as the GST, election of the President and Vice President polls and others. Gandhi even claimed that the BJP, BRS, and AIMIM held meetings at various places in the state to disturb the Congress’s rally.

Citing the ED and CBI cases against several opposition leaders in various money laundering cases and scams, the Congress MP from Wayanad claimed that Telangana CM KCR has no case against him since he is a part of the BJP alliance. He stated, “There is no case against KCR, despite all corruption records have been broken in the state. There is no case against AIMIM. Only the opposition is attacked. Modi ji never attacks his people.”

Earlier, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, while addressing the rally, announced six guarantees for the state in line with that of the state of Karnataka and assured about fulfilling the promises. She said, “To fulfil the aspirations of the people of Telangana we are announcing 6 guarantees and we are committed to fulfilling each one of them. The six guarantees include monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 will be given to women in Telangana under the ‘Mahalakshmi scheme’, gas cylinders at Rs 500, and free travel for women in TSRC buses across the state.”

In addition to it, a guarantee of Rs 5 lakh will be given for the construction of a house for all the homeless people.

Gandhi even gave credit for forming Telangana a separate state from Andhra Pradesh to the early UPA government at the centre. She said, “I along with my colleagues had the opportunity to be a part of the birth of this great state, Telangana. Now, it is our duty to elevate the state to new heights.”

Notably, Telangana will go to the state assembly elections along with Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Rajasthan before the end of this year.
