Congress leader Kamal Nath expressed confidence in voters
Chhindwara (ANI): Launching a scathing attack on the Shivraj Singh government for turning Madhya Pradesh into a ‘crooked state’, former chief minister Kamal Nath on Tuesday said there was large-scale corruption in the state under the BJP rule, while the Congress Emphasis has been given. Voters have confidence that they will protect the future of the state.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states that will go to polls on November 17 and counting of votes will take place on December 3. Voters will elect MLAs from 230 assembly constituencies.
Citing widespread discontent among all sections of people, Kamal Nath said, “We are very well prepared. I have full confidence in the voters of Madhya Pradesh that they will secure the future of the state. Today, MP has become ‘chopat’.” There is no limit to ‘state’ and corruption. You can call it (anti-incumbency wave) anything, but in the end every section is troubled. Our youth, farmers and small traders are all troubled.”
Terming the ‘Laadli Brahmin’ scheme launched by the state government as an election gimmick, he said that the people of the state are intelligent enough to understand the sudden launch of this scheme after 18 years of rule.
“Our sisters are intelligent. She will understand that they (BJP) remembered her after 18 years. This is all an election gimmick and the sisters are understanding it. The tribal people have seen what we have done. Most of the atrocities against tribals have taken place in Madhya Pradesh,” Nath said.
Under the Laadli Brahmin Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh government, Rs 1,000 is provided to every woman in the state with the aim of economically empowering her.
Since the BJP government at the Center is worried that the caste census may give rise to conflicting demands, the Congress is advocating for conducting a caste-based census in the country.
The Congress leader said, “We have been saying for a long time that there should be a caste-based census. We have full confidence (in our candidates). There is no lack of faith.”
Meanwhile, the vote from home facility for senior citizens above 80 years of age and disabled people to exercise their franchise in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections started on Tuesday in the state capital Bhopal.
This process will continue for the next three days till Thursday for eligible voters in all the seven assembly seats of the state capital.
