Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s convoy meets with accident, 7 injured

Guwahati (IANS). Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s convoy met with an accident when he went to attend a party event in Cachar district on Tuesday. The officers provided this information.

However, the Congress leader was not injured as his vehicle had passed before the collision occurred.

Police said around 100 vehicles were carrying MP Gogoi and other Congress members from Kumbhirgram airport in Cachar district to the Congress Bhawan in Silchar when one of the vehicles in the convoy was hit by a vehicle on the same highway.

The convoy was traveling at high speed when a car suddenly appeared in front of one of the vehicles in the convoy and collided with other vehicles in the same lane.

Seven Congress members, including some women, who were traveling in one of the vehicles involved in the collision, were injured. Former minister Ajit Singh was one of those who suffered minor injuries.

Gogoi was not injured in the incident as his car had passed by before the collision. Police arrived and removed the damaged vehicles.
