Controversy arose over calling ‘Koliha’ and ‘cat’, then murder took place

Dhamtari: Police revealed the murder that took place in village Devpur of Sihawa area. And told that Domar Singh Sahu had filed a report that the deceased Salik Ram Chaturvedi used to come for a walk near the applicant’s shop every morning and when he did not come for a walk on 07.09.2023, the applicant along with other people of the village went to his house and raised an alarm. When he did not answer, he went inside the house and found the deceased, Ram Chaturvedi, lying dead in the kitchen of his house. There was a lot of blood coming out due to injury on his throat. On the report of murder by some unknown person after entering the house of the deceased, case number 44/2023 section 174 IPC and crime number 141/2023 section 450, 302 IPC were instituted and taken into investigation.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Prashant Thakur, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Madhulika Singh, during the investigation by Sihawa Police under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Officer Police City Mayank Ransingh, the suspect Gaurav Netam, father, was found roaming around the house of the deceased at night. Late Govardhan Netam, aged 19 years, on custodial interrogation at Sakin Mukundpur police station, Sihawa, told that the deceased was abusing him and kept shouting like ‘Koliha, Bilai’. When the accused Gaurav Netam asked whom are you speaking to, the deceased was speaking to you. After saying this, he started hitting the deceased with the iron rod kept in his hand, when the accused got angry, snatched the said rod from the hands of the deceased Salik Ram, grabbed the neck of the deceased, took him inside his house to the kitchen and placed the pointed rod around his neck with the intention of killing him. Killed by hitting him four-five times with a rod. After the accused Gaurav Netam was found to have committed the said crime, he was arrested and sent to jail on judicial remand.
