Controversy over the burial of the dead body, the deceased had converted
Kondagaon. After conversion in Chhattisgarh, such cases often come to the fore in which there is a dispute regarding the burial of the dead body after the death of someone in the family of the convert. One such case has come to the fore from Jaitpuri village, where there was a dispute over the last rites. Actually, this case pertains to Jaitpuri village of Kotwali area, where after the death of a young man, there was a dispute over the burial of his dead body in the village. The reason for this dispute was nothing but conversion. It is being told that the young man had converted his religion due to which the villagers did not allow the dead body of the young man to be cremated in the village. The dispute escalated to such an extent that the Kotwali police also had to reach the spot, after which the last rites of the young man were performed at Kondagaon.
Please tell that this is not the first time this has happened. Many similar cases have come to the fore in the past as well, one of which was of a converted woman in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar. Here too, after the death of the woman, there was a fierce ruckus regarding the burial of her dead body and the villagers stopped the family members who were going to bury the dead body in the village.
