Court extends Sisodia’s judicial custody till June 1
New Delhi (IANS) | A Delhi court on Tuesday extended till June 1 the judicial custody of jailed AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case. The matter is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The court has also ordered the jail authorities to consider his request to provide him a chair and table for the purpose of study. A copy of the detailed order is awaited.
According to media reports, the same court had on May 12 extended Sisodia’s judicial custody till June 2, the matter being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 this year, followed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 9.
The ED has alleged that Sisodia was the mastermind behind the entire excise policy case and had deliberately leaked the policy along with co-accused to collect bribe.
Last month, special judge MK Nagpal had denied bail to the AAP leader, saying prima facie evidence points to his involvement in the crime.
