Crowd management under control: TDB tells Kerala High Court
Kochi: The Travancore Devaswom junta and the special commission of Sabarimala presented before the Superior Tribunal on Thursday that the management of crowds in Nilakkal, Pampa and Sannidhanam was under control.
Sannidhanam, chief coordinator of the police, informed the tribunal that when the destitutes take place in Sabarimala, they impose certain restrictions on the movement of the pilgrims in Nilakkal and Pampa. Those restrictions can be removed only when there is sufficient flow of money from Sannidhanam and Pampa.
To calm the crowd in Pampa, KSRTC was ordered to bring empty buses from Nilakkal. When the empty buses left Nilakkal, the pilgrims who had been waiting there for a long time tried to board the buses, but the police could not stop them, said the coordinator.
A division of the tribunal headed by judge Anil K Narendran said that the secretary general of the Tribunal Superior received around 300 emails, some of which were directed to the President of the Tribunal Supreme, pointing out various problems in Sabarimala.
