Cyclonic circulation likely to form over Bay of Bengal on August 6, IMD issues warning
Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that another cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Bay of Bengal on August 6. Due to effect of cyclonic circulation is likely to lash various parts of the state from August 6 to August 8.
According to the latest bulletin of the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, yellow warning has been issued to 7 districts for heavy rain on 6th August. These districts include Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Sundergarh.
Likewise, heavy rain has been issued to 15 districts for August 7th. These districts include Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Similarly, on August 8, light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha. Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall (7cm to 11cm) has been issued to Bargarh, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur.
Keeping the weather conditions in mind, the weather department has advised people in the yellow alert areas to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning.
