Dabri murder-suicide case: Police is probing the case from all angles
New Delhi (IANS). The Delhi Police on Friday said it is probing the Dabri murder-suicide case from all angles, in which a 23-year-old man shot dead a 40-year-old woman before shooting himself over personal enmity.
A police officer said the bodies have been handed over to their families for the last rites.
“Since the motive behind the murder is not yet clear, we are probing the matter from all angles,” the officer said.
Initial inquiry revealed that the reason behind the murder of the woman could be mutual enmity.
“The phones of both the men have been recovered. The devices are currently being examined by forensic experts,” said a source. No previous complaint of stalking has been received in connection with the case, he added.
Renu, 40, was shot dead by 23-year-old Ashish near her house on Thursday night. Ashish fled after shooting Renu in the head. After this the police started investigating the matter. Their search led them to a nearby house where Ashish lived with his parents. Shockingly, they came to know that Ashish took his own life with a country-made pistol on the terrace.
Though Renu was taken to the hospital, she could not be saved. He was declared brought dead on arrival at the hospital.
It was learned that Ashish and Renu knew each other for the last two years.
