Darshan at Alarnath from tomorrow as Lord Jagannath to fall ill after Snana Yatra today

Brahmagiri: After the grand ceremonial bath on Debasnana Purnima today, Lord Jagannath will fall ill with fever, marking the start of the Anasara period.

During this time, devotees will be unable to have darshan of the Lord at Srimandira in Puri of Odisha. To compensate, Anasara Darshan will begin at Alarnath Temple from tomorrow at the Lord Alarnath temple in Brahmagiri.

It is believed that the spiritual merit earned by having darshan of Lord Jagannath on the Ratna Singhasana in Srimandira is equal to the merit gained by having darshan of Lord Alarnath at Brahmagiri during Anasara.

For the next 14 days, devotees will throng Alarnath for darshan. Lord Jagannath, who remains unseen in Puri during this period, will bless devotees in the form of Alarnath.

Elaborate arrangements have been made in view of the expected rush of devotees from Odisha and other states. The temple will open at 4 AM. After Mangala Alati, public darshan will continue throughout the day.

To maintain law and order, 10 platoons of police force will be deployed. This includes 1 Additional SP, 4 DSPs, 20 IICs, and a total of 50 officers. 70 CCTV cameras will monitor the Alarnath Temple premises. Extensive arrangements have also been made for traffic control.
