Dead body of male elephant found, forest department team engaged in investigation considering death as suspicious

Raigarh: The dead body of an elephant has been found in the Dharamjaigarh forest area of the district. The male elephant, which had come in search of food near Medremar Colony, died under suspicious circumstances. After the information, the forest department team reached the spot. It is being told that the elephant died due to electrocution.

According to the information, terror of wild elephants has been going on in Dharamjaigarh forest division for a long time. Wild elephants roaming in the forests of this area reach residential areas anytime of the day or night. Along with damaging the houses of the villagers, they also damage their crops. According to the villagers of the village, for the last few days, wild elephants have been reaching the colony in search of food and causing havoc. It is being said that the elephant may have died due to electric shock applied to protect the crops.
