Dead body of unknown youth found in 25 feet deep well

Korba. The dead body of a missing person has been found in a neighbour’s well in village Dhelwadih of the district. On getting information about the incident on Saturday morning, a crowd of villagers gathered at the spot. The matter is of Manikpur Chowki area. According to the information, Bablu Ram Oraon (55) was missing from home since 7 am on Friday. A lot of searching was done for him, but he was not found. On Saturday morning, neighbor Basant Khadiya went to his yard. As soon as he looked inside the well to draw water, he was shocked to see a dead body inside. The body of a missing person has been found in a neighbor’s well in village Dhelwadih of Korba district.

He immediately informed the villagers about the incident. A crowd of people gathered at the spot. The depth of the well is 25 feet, due to which it was not possible to know whose dead body it was. On receiving information, police also reached the spot. When the body was taken out from the well, it was identified as Bablu Ram Oraon of the neighbourhood. Hari Ram Oraon, nephew of the deceased, told that his cousin sister had eloped and married a youth of another caste. Aunt had also left uncle and gone somewhere, due to which uncle remained worried.

The nephew told that he lived with him. But on Friday morning he went somewhere without informing, since then no trace of him could be found even after a lot of searching. Here Manikpur outpost in-charge Prem Sahu said that in the initial investigation the case seems to be a suicide. The family members and surrounding people have been interrogated. It has also been revealed that Bablu was addicted to drinking alcohol. The body has been sent for postmortem. The exact cause of death will be revealed once the report comes.
