Deadly criminal Sushant Sahu injured in police encounter

Salepur: Dreaded criminal Sushant Sahu alias Lipu was injured in an encounter with the police late night near Asureshwar in Nishchintkoili area of Salepur.
According to the police, SI Tapan Nayak of Nishchinkoili police station along with his police staff conducted the raid when Sushant, a hardened criminal from Jagatsinghpur, and his associate were planning to commit the crime.

In self-defence, Sushant fired two rounds at the police, and in retaliation SI Tapan Nayak fired one round at Sushant, after which one bullet hit his left leg and the police overpowered him.

He was immediately admitted to Nischintkoili Community Health Center (CHC) and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack for treatment.
